Color Diamond Jewelry

Diamond jewelry has long been perceived as the embodiment of elegance with white or colorless diamonds deemed the standard; especially in modern times. But that hasn’t always been the case. Although still mysterious for many people today, natural color diamonds were used in jewelry for centuries but they were forgotten at the beginning of the 20th century only to resurface in Antwerp after the 1960s.

With their enigmatic hues and rare nature, natural color diamonds are an exclusive item. Arthur Langerman quickly realized this and saw the creative potential that color diamonds could bring for jewelers. Despite first being discouraged to pursue his colorful interest—as color diamonds were unknown at the time—his admiration for these rare treasures only continued to grow. Following his true passion would later on lead him to establish Langerman Diamonds in 1965. Which today, stands as a global reference for excellence and is renowned for keeping the largest, most diverse collection of natural color diamonds.

A new exciting chapter is now being written by the Langerman team under the vision and leadership of Stefan Langerman. The next generation carries on with the family legacy through a new venture: Langerman Jewels. A space where you can explore and experiment with color in the most unique way there is: by selecting diamonds from our very own reserves and combining them with different gold types to co-create fine jewelry pieces. Leaving your mark on every ring, earring, bracelet and necklace you customize.

We’re excited to be your guide into the fascinating universe of possibilities that color diamonds present for modern elegance today.

Natural Color Diamonds: Exploring the Unknown

When diamonds formed hundreds of kilometers deep inside the Earth’s mantle, a rare occurrence took place. Surrounding elements became trapped inside some of them and, in broad terms, infused them with color. These inclusions are a diamond’s fingerprint. They are what makes them unique. A time capsule if you will; containing a fragment of Earth’s billions-year-old history. But this impressive array of colors is reserved only for a small portion of diamonds. In fact, only one in every 10,000 has color to it. Thus, making them very rare and highly coveted by true connoisseurs.

Langerman's diamonds are remarkable for their natural color that hasn’t been enhanced or modified in any way. Masterfully cut and polished, all of our diamonds are ethically sourced and carefully selected.

Color Diamond Jewelry Your Way: Customizing a Langerman Piece

With ten different diamond color options ranging from dreamy subtle blues and faint bubbly champagnes, sweet intense pinks and cheerful canary yellows as well as rich cognacs and enigmatic blacks; there’s a color for everybody. Actually, there are over 200 possible combinations for you to play with. Select your diamond and set it in one of our three 18 Kt gold alloys: yellow, rose and white. Yellow gold never goes out of style, white gold is an elegant classic and rose gold is a warm romantic option.

We know that such variety can be intimidating at first; like a child walking into a candy store. But there’s a way to approach the selection process that can help you find the perfect fit for you: understanding skin tones and undertones. Identifying your type is easier than it seems as every person, pale or dark, can be categorized under 3 groups: cool, warm and neutral.

Visible blue veins in the wrist and a pink undertone in the cheeks, might signal a cool skin tone. In which case, white gold and icy diamond hues are most likely to flatter your eye and hair colors. Peachy or yellow undertones in the cheeks together with green veins, are indicative of a warm skin tone. For this type, warm diamonds with yellow or rose gold are best suited. If you find it tricky to place yourself within a warm/cold type, you might be a lucky neutral. This means every color compliments your skin, eyes and hair.

Medium dark to dark skin tones have to focus on determining whether their faces have a blueish sort of purple undertone or rather a brown or orange one. In this case, the makeup you wear might help clear it out. If you feel like you look more awake and vibrant using purplish blush and eyeshadows, you might be a cool type. And if you find yourself constantly returning to earthy palettes like terracottas, you are probably a warm type. Either way, silvery or golden colors look great on darker skin tones as they pop more.

But this is, of course, only a reference. General rules are to be bent and challenged when you set out to create your signature style. A piece of jewelry is personal and the meaning behind its colors or the memories they evoke are far more important than following any guidelines.

A Jewel With Your Personal Touch

We encourage you to be creative. Contrasting combinations such as white gold and black diamonds are perfect for a dramatic touch. And for a feminine monochromatic look, perhaps mixing rose gold and champagne diamonds works best. The decision is all yours.

When it comes to acquiring a piece of jewelry for yourself, there’s no experience more memorable than that of being able to customize it according to your very own preferences. And with ten different diamond colors to choose from, Langerman jewels are the perfect vehicle for self-expression.

Looking for a tender gift instead? Then picture the look on the face of your loved one when you present her with a custom pair of earrings or a necklace you co-created. Carefully selecting the diamonds and gold colors that best frame her beauty. Wouldn’t that be an excellent way to mark a special occasion?

Select your color palette and awake the artist inside you. Immerse yourself into the world of Langerman Jewels.
